Former Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech created two penalty saves on his Guildford Phoenix debut to give his team a shoot-out win from Swindon Wildcats 2.
The 37-year-old, still a technical adviser at Chelsea, won man of the match and saved attempts and Swindons first.
Phoenix trailed 2-1 after two periods but an equaliser out of Taylor Wootton took the match into overtime.
That led to some shoot-out in which Cech made the crucial saves and ended goalless.
